I come pimping halfamoon and 14valentines.
The suffragate movement used quite a bit of color imagery during their campaign, a wise choice as color is one of the best ways to make a lasting impression. It's the same way you associate pink ribbons with breast cancer awareness and red ribbons with AIDS awareness.

I chose a lot of purple and gold not only because they have a certain regal association, but also because they've been used in the past as colors for the feminist movement as the sort of 'official' suffrage colors (The Golden Lane comes to mind) along with the addition of the colors white and green.
